The Full Story

Who We Are

When the idea of starting my own non-profit was first suggested by many, my immediate reaction was filled with doubt and insecurity. Thoughts of inadequacy flooded my mind, convincing me that I wasn't qualified or intelligent enough to embark on such a challenging journey.

But as I ventured away from Abilene, leaving behind the families I had grown to cherish, a profound realization hit me. My heart ached for those I had served, for the bonds formed, the prayers shared, and the support given. It was then that I understood the true purpose behind my aspirations.

Supported and encouraged by my incredible husband, Jeremy, I found the courage to pursue our dream of establishing Joy Project Network (JPN). Our sweet boy Jordan and the families I had served became the driving force behind our mission. So together, with Jeremy, Jordan's love, our six sons and daughter at home we set out to make Joy Project Network a reality.

Since the beginning of 2024, at least four more families I have served have said goodbye to their babies. Yet, amidst the sorrow, there exists a beacon of hope—the babies who bravely fought for every breath, now resting peacefully and completely healed. They have inspired me to persevere through the challenges, to delve deeper into the intricacies of running a non-profit.

Their stories fuel our determination, reminding us that even in the face of trials and tribulations, we have the power to make a difference and bring joy to other families in need. And as we continue this journey, fueled by love and driven by compassion, we are guided by the enduring legacy of those we've had the honor to serve.

Jordan's life verse was James 1:2-4 "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." Our desire for Joy Project Networks is to reflect on this verse and honor Jordan's legacy by spreading his infectious joy to the underserved communities by providing medical equipment and supplies, opportunities to make make memories, and support to those living in poverty stricken areas. Jordan will be forever four years old but joy will live on forever.

Please take a moment and browse the Joy Project Network website. If you need help let us know how we can better serve you. If you would like to help us help others please consider volunteering or giving a monetary donation so that we can continue our mission.

Sincerely,

Meagan Kirk, Jordan's Mom
